reevaluating (more diet stuff)

Yesterday I decided to take a break from blogging about diet stuff. It was brought to my attention by someone I respect greatly about keeping in mind that there are different body types.

Okay so as I mentioned before, I am 5'1 and 105 lbs. My BMI is about a 19.5 which is "healthy" FOR MY HEIGHT. When I say Im mentioning a good meal plan for the day you need to keep consideration of this. If you are 5'4 and 120lbs you will probably need about 300-500 more calories than me. So what you can do is to up the portions and I forgot to mention how important it is to take a daily vitamin. I am fully aware that it is very difficult to literally eat every vitamin you need in one day. I use a daily womens vitamin from trader joes and I don't have to worry about lacking anywhere.

So what I am going to do is, Im going to blog about what I would eat for the day. I dont want to prescribe a diet because I cant see each one of you face to face and take in consideration lifestyles and health problems. I believe if you are the averaged height girl and you are looking to loose 10-20 lbs then you will succeed. There are important rules that I lived my life by and I succeeded.
Rule number one: No enriched, refined white flour
Rule number two: No Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream
Rule number three: Exercise is a MUST

Its really simple and if you have the drive and discipline I believe you can do this too.

Jackie's breakfast:
Smoothie 24oz (Fresh squeezed organic OJ, Frozen strawberries and a banana) blended together
and my coffee (large organic coffee)

Jackie's Lunch:
Salad made with Romain leaves, spinach, avocado, chicken, tomato's and olive oil as dressing
side: organic blue corn chips and organic mild salsa

Jackie's Snack:
Turkey slices rolled with organic cream cheese and tomatoes

Jackies Dinner:
Organic free range chicken breast (grilled), Asparagus spears sauted in butter and garlic

Jackie's Dessert:
1 serving of trader joes NF tart frozen yogurt topped with 1/2 cup of granola and drizzled with organic honey

Bed time at 10 and don't forget drink plenty of water and take your vitamins! :)

According to your satisfaction, take your portion sizes into consideration

Day 1

Well today is Sunday and in my opinion the best way to kick off a week to a dedicated routine.

Start your morning by eating a banana and a half cup of oatmeal (cooked with water.) To flavor it, slice the bananas inside, put a cap full of vanilla extract (non alchohol from trader joes) and a tbsp of honey.
If this is not sweet enough for you then sorry that's the way it is. The most important part of success is retraining your pallet. Life is not about over indulging your taste buds for every meal of the day. Appreciate food in its natural way and learn to love every different foods natural flavor.

If you havent had your coffee yet I say do so! I have always drank coffee through this whole thing. Some diets say stay away from it, if anything I think it helped me. It gave me energy to stay off my butt, its a natural body stimulant, and as long as you drink plenty of water all day to neutralize yourself, coffee is an important part of the day. Now here is the hard part, im not talking about flavored coffee, such as starbucks lattes every morning. If you are going to have a filling breakfast such as the one I suggested today, stay away from the milk, the fat, the carbs and the sugar. Get a black coffee, make sure you are using an organic coffee if possible, and sweeten with Agave or honey. It will be hard but soon you will retrain your pallet to really enjoy the natural coffee flavor. I now drink it with no sweetener at all!

Okay so after spending time with the family on this beautiful Sunday morning, and after church or whatever your Sunday routine is, it is now time for some exercise. Go on a half mile walk. You must, there is no easy way to loose weight and it is definitely not going to happen if you DONT USE YOUR HEART. Even just a fast paced walk on the beach, down the block, or around a track will make a HUGE difference in your battle. Keep your eye on the prize, use your heart and do this. Make it fun, make it pretty scenery and if you are the type of person who needs to be with someone constantly, take this time to gather your thoughts, figure out where you stand mentally at this point in the game. Quiet time is important in this strive.

Now lunch...hmmmm... Well you know what they say "for breakfast eat like a king, for lunch eat like a prince, for dinner eat like a pauper." Whoever "they" were, they were most likely in shape. People make all of Sunday an excuse to eat and eat and eat. Sunday comes every single week, its really not that big a deal when it comes to food. Make your Sunday routine with your family that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have a big one! Lunch should be light:
Make a salad, add tomato, avocado, tuna, make your own dressing with olive oil and salt and pepper. You can even simmer a soup with a chicken broth or vegetable broth and add chicken breasts and your favorite vegetables for a family lunch. Get creative! No more carbs for the day!

In between this you must get yourself a large water bottle from the store. Make sure that you are buying them often, dont leave them in the sun and drink 2 a day. (the 4 servings of 8 fluid oz. water bottles) You need to have this by your side as if it were a lifeline. Water cleanses your body, it gets RID of water weight because your body wont be holding onto it in survival mode, and not to mention your skin will literally glow!

Okay so dinner is coming up. You dont always have to eat what your kids are eating and vise versa. Kids need to grow, they have totally different nutritional needs than we adults do. Make them a filling comfort food on Sunday, but make ONLY enough for them so you cant have any yourself. Also keep in mind child obesity, dont order a pizza for them that is NOT what I am saying.
For yourself and include your spouse if possible, slice up some cucumbers and serve with an organic humus. Roll up some turkey "wraps" no not with tortilla. Get high quality turkey sliced and stuff with chopped tomatos and an organic light cream cheese. Remember portion control, eat slowly stop at the first moment of feeling full.
For dessert, because I know this craving so well I love the sugar free pudding and top with a little whip cream but do this before 7:00.

Watch a movie with your family, spend some time with your special person and go to sleep early. The reason being, if you are asleep you wont late night snack.....

Hope this helps!!!!!

Giving back (take your life back!)

Okay here is the deal, if you look at my early posts on here you will see one that is about weight. I wrote that blog when I was in the beginning part of my weight loss, which is absolutely that hardest time! Most people cant handle it, they become discouraged and give up and gain more. Im telling you I was this close to doing that! The motivation comes from loosing. Sounds weird but its true. In the begining you want to loose weight, but you are used the the way you look, you are comfortable with your current routine. Putting the bathing suit out on the wall is NOT enough motivation. You make excuses when you do things like that, "Oh ill buy a more flattering bathing suit." or "Ill get a black simple one that wont make me stand out." This is just an example of the many techniques used by different people. The real technique...... drive.

My name is Jackie Jimenez. I have lost 40 lbs in one year. Im 5'0 and my weight had escalated to a unhealthy 140 lbs. To a person who is 5'4 or even 5'6 that wont sound like a lot but to someone who is an inch away from 4'11 that is not a flattering BMI.

I want to share a day by day realistic plan from a normal girl to another or even guy! Im not a web site who is biased to one way, or one diet plan to another. Im just a normal young woman who did this all on her own and all it takes is one year. If I can get some followers on here I would love to invest in this project but I need to know someone is listening and benefiting from my blogs. You can create an account and not have to blog yourself, you can be a blog reader :)

Hope to hear from some of you!
